About Me

I Love Words

I've been working with words throughout my career: teaching students how to structure their words in a foreign language, helping business people and academics better organise their words to achieve greater impact, and empowering people to publish their words in another language and grow their audiences. I also use words to tell my own stories.

Where It All Started

I'm originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and spent my teenage years and early adulthood in the UK. I studied Spanish and Latin American Studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

What I Do Now

I went freelance in 2019 after a successful carreer in educational management, and have built up a solid client list of people and companies that value high-quality translation, voice and language services.

Digital Skills

In 2005 I taught myself how to code a website for my radio show, that turned into a streaming server with over 400 hours of on-demand audio. I try to keep up to date with web standards, and coded this website in (fairly) modern HTML and CSS. I'm a proficient user of Pages/Word, Keynote/Powerpoint, Lightroom and Audition, and have decent abilities on Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Numbers/Excel.

And...

I love riding my road and gravel bikes in the majestic mountains around where I live. I bake bread, make jam, and spend a good part of my free time searching for new music. I'm also an occasional free diver, hence the picture of me at the top of this site, 15m under the sea with no air tank!
